How I work
In the therapy space, I can help you to:
-
Express yourself freely and safely about your emotions, thoughts, current and past experiences
-
Explore ways to manage the impact of current and past life events, as well as symptoms you may be experiencing such as low mood, anxiety, helplessness, irritability, lack of motivation, restlessness, low self-esteem…
-
Reflect on your relationship with yourself and others
-
Gain deeper understanding of who you are
-
Consider how to make desired changes and feel empowered in your choices
I see the relationship between you and me - counsellor and client - as a key component in our work together: our relationship is the foundation of therapeutic process through which exploration, insight and change can occur.
We will work cooperatively to create a space of mutual trust, in which you can experience both nurture and challenge.
By working 'integratively' I draw upon elements of psychodynamic, humanistic and cognitive schools of thought. This supports me to tailor my way of being to your needs, experiences and preferences.
I strive to make my style of working authentic, welcoming and client-led.
I recognise how the past can have an impact on current wellbeing: as we focus on your present, we will also work together to consider how, through past experiences, you have become the person you are today, helping you to understand yourself better and make meaningful change.
The practicalities
I offer a free, brief informal discussion to get to know each other and talk about what you're looking for.
.
From then onwards, sessions are on weekly basis and last 50 minutes, sessions are £60 each.
