How I work

I see the relationship between you and me, counsellor and client, as a key component in our work together: our relationship becomes the holder of the therapeutic process through which exploration, insight and change can occur. We will work cooperatively to create a space of mutual trust, in which you can experience both nurture and challenge.

By working 'integratively' I draw upon elements, ideas and ways of understanding your experiences from psychodynamic, humanistic and cognitive schools of thought. This supports me to tailor my way of being and supporting you based on your presenting needs and preferences.

I strive to make my style of working authentic, welcoming and client-led. I recognise how the past can have an impact on current wellbeing: as we focus on your present, we will also work together to consider how, through past experiences, you have become the person you are today.

What happens next?

Wild Pond

I offer a free brief, informal chat via video or telephone in which we can get to know each other and ensure I am the right counsellor for what you are looking for and your circumstances.

We will then have an initial 50 minutes consultation to talk further about what’s bringing you to therapy, your history, your therapeutic goals and agree on next steps.

What to expect

Sessions are on weekly basis and last 50 minutes, in-person, online or via telephone. Sessions are £60 and I have space for some concessionary rate clients at £35, please get in touch to enquire about availability. We may agree to working together short-term (for example 8-12 sessions), long-term (6 months) or open-ended. We will regularly review how you feel things are going and make any helpful adjustments.
